Problem
Parents needed to find the right programme for their child, the staff, and how to reach the centre, quickly.
Solution
Four support programmes with the conditions they cover, 19 staff with photos and a call-back form on one site, with one-tap calling on mobile.

Context

Özel Işığım Special Education and Rehabilitation Centre was founded by physiotherapists in Osmangazi, Bursa. Affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, it provides special education and physiotherapy free of charge to people with disabilities.

I built the site in 2019. Its reader is usually a parent looking for the right programme for their child, who will work with them, and how to get to the centre.

Approach

  • Programmes by condition. Services are grouped into four support programmes: intellectual disability, physical disability (physiotherapy), speech and language disorders, and pervasive developmental disorders. Each card lists the conditions it covers, such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism and stuttering.
  • Staff in plain sight. Physiotherapists, a speech and language therapist, special education teachers and support staff: all 19 on one page, with photo, name and title.
  • One tap to reach the centre. On mobile, a tap-to-call and location bar sits at the very top; the contact page has a call-back form, Google Maps and two phone lines.
  • Legal obligations. The KVKK privacy notice is on the site, and its application form can be downloaded.

Highlights

  • 8 pages: Including home, about, services, staff, gallery and contact.
  • 11 informative articles: In collapsible sections on the services page.
  • Gallery: 25 photos in a lightbox.
  • Call-back form: Sent without a reload, with a confirmation message.

Technical foundation

  • Core: A custom PHP site with clean URLs.
  • Interface: Bootstrap 4 and jQuery; the gallery uses fancyBox with separate thumbnail and full-size images.
  • Form: Background submission with SweetAlert2 notifications.
  • Hosting: HTTP/3 and Brotli compression through Cloudflare.

Outcome

The site has been live since 2019, and content such as staff photos has kept being updated through 2026.
